oh man, my computer has been acting totally crazy lately! I think it's finally back to normal, which is weird too. It changed for no reason, and now went back to normal, with almost an audible click. I don't get it.
I finally took Lelah #2 pictures and finished the Clap! I'll upload them once I'm done with this. They're not the best pictures I've ever taken, but they'll suffice. And shit, I never realized how hard it is to take a picture of your own back!
I've finally got all my classes registered and paid for, which is a huge weight off my shoulders. Too bad I'm going to have to go to them, come the 15th. Anyway, I don't think any of them will be too hard (English, easy math, ballet, and French that picks up where I left off). I just hope I won't hate it as much as I did high school. That would be a nightmare. ... Also yesterday I got my babysitting job set in stone. Figuratively. Anyway, I'm babysitting once a week, possibly more until December. I think I can deal with that. It helps put off getting a real job that much longer, so I'm happy with it.
My birthday is Sunday! I'll finally be 18, which I feel like a dork for admitting. I'm sure you guys thought I was young but I really am a little kid. hahahah! And turning 18 is really going to mean nothing to me, since I don't smoke, I won't play the lottery, etc.
With no further adieu: Lelah #2 pictures!
EDITED TO ADD: Since
Kaitlyn asked, and I should have done it anyway, here is how I made Lelah top into a halter. On my first Lelah I made the medium size because I was lazy and figured it would fit anyway. I decided to do a bunch of math on the second one, and lo and behold, the M ended up being exactly right for me, so the number of stitches around the bust on mine is the same. (And I only say this because I'm looking at my pattern + notes and I don't see the specific #, it's probably here somewhere) If you're doing this with a specific top to wear underneath it in mind, it's good to have it handy while you're doing this, just to line things up. I knit about 2 1/2" of stockinette before I decided that would be a good length for the deep V neck to start, but I still wanted the back higher, so I found what I wanted to be the center front, divided the stitches there, and proceeded to knit it flat from that point on. Then, once I figured the back was high enough, I bound off the back half. (I have the number 66 written here, I'm not positive but I think that was how many I bound off.) Then I divided the front half into two equal sections for the cups, and as I knit each, I decreased at the beginning and end of every right side row. (I did the math and it just ended up that way!) Once I got down to 5 stitches I worked I-cord for about 18" and that was it. Pretty simple, although my instructions suck. In a nutshell: stockinette for a anout 2 1/2", then divide and start the V. Knit flat for about 3". BO back. Work each cup with a decrease at each end of every RS row, then work I-cord.
Some notes: I tried to line the start of the V with the very middle of my boob. It looks a little funny just sitting in front of you, or while you're working on it bit it should look good when it's on. Remember to PAIR YOUR DECREASES! I forgot on one side, so it looks goofy for a couple of rows. (
THIS knitty.com article has more info on paired decreases for anyone who needs it) I can definitely clairfy anything because I know that was porrly written, but I can't remember the numbers, since the all ended up so perfectly I ended up not writing them down. OOPS!
Kaitlyn also reminded me of the one thing I can do now: VOTE! Thankfully I'll finally have some say (well, not really, I mean theoretically) in what goes on in this country. I really am stoked to vote and can't wait until the next election.

it looks super! Will you share your halter technique? I was going to do teh same thing, but never got around to it since the friend I made my lelah2 for wanted a tubey. Congrats on singing up for school and the babysitting gig... and of course, YOUR BIRTHDAY! You can now vote against Bush and the Terminator.

yes! voting is very important, even if sometimes it feel pointless. Its something we take for granted in the united states.
I LOVE your Lelah!! I have been wanting to do another one, and I really like the halter top idea. Good job!

Nice Lelah! I'm going to start one soon.
Have I talked to you about The Dark Tower series before? If so, sorry for repeats but shit! I LOVE THOSE BOOKS!! Have you read them all?
Will you gamble at all? Or just no lottery? 18 year olds are allowed in most indian casinos in California.
What college are you going to?

Yes, I've read them all. I got the last one almost 10 years after I started reading them. I like the first 4 a lot better than the last 3 but I like those too. It's just that each of the first 4 were written over the course of many years where as the last 3 were pumped out in like, 2, and I mean 2 years to write all 3. So they just feel a bit rushed to me. I did however REALLY like the end of the series. The vast majority of people that I talk to about them say they hated it but I thought it was perfect, the only way he could have done it. Number 4 is by far my favorite, it's mostly Roland telling part of his history.

I've never read the new version of the 1st one. I want to though to see how different it is. I read somewhere that he changed the first one a lot so it would go with the other books better but I always liked that it didn't go with them very much. I mean, it does, most of the characters pop up in the other books and stuff, but it just felt like it could be it's own book and I liked that.
You should get the rest of them, you'll love them, trust me.
Another good series is the Incarnations of Immortality series by Piers Anthony. There's 7 books in all and yes, they do have to do with god and the devil a bit but they're not religious books. And yes, he's a sci-fi writer so that throws some people off but they're really good.
I like series too (just in case you hadn't guessed already).

totally a cute lelah, rock on. you were smart to pair it with a specific top underneath, so that they line up properly. great work!
