In case you wondered

what kind of knitting needle I would be, here it is:

You are interchangeable. Fun, free, and into everything, you've got every
eventuality covered and every opportunity just
has to be taken. Every fiber is wonderful, and
every day is a new beginning. You are good at
so many things, it's amazing, but you can
easily lose your place and forget to show up.
They have row counters for people like you!

What kind of knitting needles are you?

Rant time!

At school every week, I kill 3 hours on Tuesdays and 4 hours on Thursdays by spending my time on the computer. My schedule is totally fucked, and as a result I have a 9-950 class and then nothing until 1. Needless to say, a lot of my time is spent on myspace. Today I got here, and MYSPACE IS BLOCKED! AAAAHHHHHHHH I don't know what to do. Except post here and lurk all the message boards that I post on ... I will be back in a little bit to finish this but I just got distracted. =/

Okay, some more random thoughts. To those of you who are into hardcore, and whatnot: if you get the chance, check out the band Ramallah. They are amazing. I saw them a month or two ago and was blown away. The just came on my ipod and I though I would share that with you guys.

I'm sorry, I have NO attention span today!

Knitting news: I got sick of a shitload of burgundy Red Heart that I had lying around, so I'm making a purse out of it. I'm using the whole knit the bottom as a rectangle and then pick up stitches around the edges for the sides method. I'm using some garter stitch, and a couple of cable panels. (Which is somewhat surprising, as that's exactly what I'm doing with the afghan. You'd think I would be tired of doing the same thing, but I guess not.) The purse kind of came to me during the middle of the night or something. I can't remember when, but I pretty much dreamed it up whilst I was sleeping. And I just thought up a new idea for the cable panel, so I might be redesigning that. Hrm. It's going well so far, but I'm kind of worrying about how many stitches to pick up and where for the sides, because I know the cables are going to pull in, and I don't want the bottom to bugle out more than the sides. But we'll see how that goes.

PS if there are any of my favorite blogging ladies who have myspace and aren't my friends, feel free to add me. If I don't know you, feel free to lurk me.

I really hate thinking of a title every time!

I'm listening to the new HorrorPops album right now. I wasn't a big fan of it at first, but it has really grown on me! I'm not sure if I like it even half as much as I like the first one, but still, it's pretty damned good. Just in case you were wondering my opinion on it, I thought I would tell you.

I'm knitting a scarf right now. Why? Because I get really good ideas for scarves and then forget how much I hate making them because they are so fucking boring. Unless they're totally mindless. But I'm doing one with a cable pattern (the " simple Celtic Cable" which is the same as the Saxon Braid from "Knitting on the Edge) that's just complicated enough that I have to pay attention but not hard enough to make things interesting. UGH. I do this every time I make a scarf! I get about 6 inches in, and I'm really bored with the whole damned thing. And the particular scarf I'm working on is beautiful, but I can basically only do one repeat of the cable at a sitting. I used to be bored with the afghan I'm working on, but now I keep going back to that instead of the scarf! And I'm pretty much doing the second most boring square, the Horseshoe cable. Speaking of that, I've got six squares done and I'm tearing through he one I'm working on now. Only ten left to go! Hopefully I'll be able to give this to my mom for Christmas ... At this rate it will be Christmas 2010!

I have several small quantities of yarn that I'm trying to find things to do with, and I'm starting to get frustrated. I was thinking about mittens, and I was going to use the design-your-own-mittens thing in the newest knitty, but I am just too lazy for that. I can't find a good mitten pattern! Plus, I do NOT want to do them flat and I only have DPNs in two sizes at this point. That's probably the biggest limitation. (They're 7 and 8, in case anyone has a pattern that would work, but I'm past the point of looking for one.)

I swear, one day I will take pictures of things like the Amerlia Erhart cap and the scarves I've finished recently and put them up. One day ...

Parties! pictures!

Once again I'm in the library at school and once again people don't understand that it's supposed to be quiet in here so one can study and concentrate. I'm not quite sure why that's so hard to understand ...

Man, I had quite a weekend. Friday night 80s party was crazy and so fun I can't even begin to discribe it. So I'll include pictures!

me, amanda, lynsey, toni, candice   GUILLOTINE GALS!

Notice everyone has a cup but me, hahahah! I think I was one of like 4 people at the whole party that wasn't drinking. However, Saturday my friend took me to a party with a bunch of people she works with. And I ended up drinking. Yep. So much for straight edge. I didn't really take it seriously anyway, and it seemed like as good a time as any!

Gratuitous picture from that party. I don't really know that guy. I wasn't drinking yet, notice the coke can in front of me. And I love pictures where I look chubby. Seriously, I'm not fishing for compliments, I really like it. Also, the real reason I included this is you can see I'm wearing my halter top Lelah! I know only a couple of inches of lace are showing, but I was freezing my ass off!

Let's see ... as knitting goes, I finished the body of my Fiery Bolero yesterday. I don't have #3 circs so I'm going to have to wait to finish it until I can get over to the LYS to pick some up. But it looks great and it worked really well with the cotton ease. I can't wait to finish it because I really want to wear it! I'm a layer-er and it's perfect.

I've got 600 yards of blue cotton ease that I'm trying to figure out something to do with. Any ideas?
