Panta! Finished.
Like every other freakin' knitter on craftster, I made a panta. I like it but it is really almost too wide for my head. It's not that I have a small head- quite the contrary actually. I just like thinner headbands. But I do like it. I wore it to dinner just now even thought it didn't match what I am wearing in the slightest. Pictures:
Try not to mind that I have absolutely no make-up on. I am way too busy doing important things like knitting, lurking, and posting here to put make-up on just to go to school. However, if I am going to a show, or partying, I will have on roughly 14 pounds of make-up on. Counting lipstick, it's more like 18 lbs. kidding.
In other knitting news, I made the "Letter Have It " purse from SnBN but felted it longer than I should have and it's a third the size that I had wanted it to be. It is cute for a smaller purse, but my optimum purse borders on suitcase-sized. I have enough of the yarn to re-do it and see what happens. I think my washing machine might be a little too good a felting, hahaha! I have heard all these places that people have to run things through 3 or 4 cycles and stuff always felts halfway through a cycle in my washer. Anyway, I liked that the bag was a quick knit and fairly simple. Okay, it was boring which is why I am waiting a little to re-do it. I have pictures but they are on my sis's camera, so they will be here next time.
In addition to all that, I am also onto sleeve #2 for Mariah. I really confused myself for a while, and thought the directions were really unclear, and then I read through and realized that the make sense if you read the whole thing. I wish I could do at least part of it in the round to eliminate some seaming. But I do like the garter stitch edges, and I am really good at seaming garter. So that is a definite plus. But I am getting a little bored with it.
That boredom is the reason I started a scarf for one of my friends in red Microspun (sooooooo soft! I love it!) that is a stockinette panel with lace on the edge. I don't think I've done much lace since Lelah, and I had forgotten how much fun it is! And when I was at the craftstore getting yarn for that, I got some Sugar and Cream in red to attempt a bathing suit. Something tells me it might not go to well, but I plan to line it and I have read craftster posts of people who have done the same. We'll see how it goes, eh?

you will probably drop dead ...
from shock, but I've actually got picturesssss! YES! Procrastination is the cure-all for lazy blogging, let me tell you! So let's get right to the good stuff:
yarn from my shopping spree the other day. Both yarns are more green/a deeper green than they show up. I love all the random shit I have on my dresser: a bag of conversation hearts, Robitussin, ribbon, etc. Ignore that.
My Vintage Knits Lace Camisole is finally done! In this picture it doesn't have a ribbon in it yet and the straps aren't sewn on but I did all that afterward and it is totally done now! More pictures someday, since I might wear it tomorrow night. Depends on how well it dries. It isn't sized the way I would like it to be; it's still too big! I am a fairly big girl (5'10" and 150 lbs) but I still end up using the smallest sizing for patterns and end up not liking the fit. I don't want skin tight, I just don't want bulk. At all. It is frustrating. Also, I have a really bad habit of wearing a wife beater under tank tops. And a black bra with a wife beater. I am just that white trast classy.
That there would be a sleeve for Mariah!!! I am really excited about this. It's going well. I've been getting a good amont of knitting done every day: in between classes and on the bus and stuff, in addition to my usual knitting in front of the tv. Which reminds me, there are only 5 minutes until Family Guy comes on, so this entry is nearing its end. I am just not looking forward to A) all the seaming that will need to be done and B) doing the sleeve a second time. But I have been keeping detailed notes about decreases, etc. and it's not too boring.
Tomorrow is Friday. That means one class (Psych. of Death and Dying, my favorite!), and fun times! I am going to the last show of a really great [legendary? hahaha] Nor Cal hardcore band, All Bets Off tomorrow. Sad, but I am glad I am getting to see them once more. It's like having a funeral before one dies in some senses.

craftster has some amazing stuff sometimes ...
like knitted zombies! Impressive, to say the least.
I went to Michael's last night and bought $50 worth of yarn. Not a lot, considering how much I wanted but a lot considering I have no steady income! Anyway, I got some Lion Brand Wool Ease worsted in a dark grey color for Mariah. I hadn't know until yesterday that Michael's started carrying Patons Classic Merino (I think it's called? The 100% wool one!) So I can get yarn for felting without having to go to the LYS. Even though I am all about supporting mom and pop type stores over chains, I am really not a big fan of my LYS, and I'm not sure why. Too much novelty yarn, I think. Anyway, I bought an olive-ish green and a darker green and also a color that they call teal but I don't think that really does it justice. The colors are really beautiful and very bold. I almost bought the teal to make Mariah with, but I thought that might be too much. So I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the teal, probably something felting-related. Maybe another purse.
This morning, I brought my yarn and pattern with me, and I was going to knit before class for an hour or so. Why not, eh? I'll tell you why: because my printer didn't print row 1 of chart C for the stinking Mariah pattern. WTF? So I got online to check that out, and now I'm doing this. Ugh. Seriously, I've got the whole freakin' chart except row 1. I'm really not even sure how that happened, but it makes me mad.

On a day like today ...
I am really reminded of how much I HATE SPORTS! Really. My family is currently sitting in front of the tv watching intently. All I can really say is, thank god my mom is not, at the moment, screaming about what is happening in the game.
This is going to be one of those days where all I do is bitch, so be forewarned. I woke up with cramps and after being awake for about 2 hours they were devastatingly bad. I took a hot bath and tried all kinds of stuff until my Tylenol decided to kick in 3 hours after I had taken it. I am waiting until it wears off again, and I am just going to take one of my three left over vicodin from my hand. Which, by the way I have forgotten to blog about! My cast is gone, and although it still hurts pretty much all the time, it is nice to be able to do things like take a shower properly and write. I doubt if you realize what a relief it is to not have a plastic bag on my hand every time I shower.
I discovered another aspect of knitting that I hate almost as much as seaming today: the picot bind off. What a pain in the ass! It's like 3 steps forward and two steps back. It's pretty much the closest you can get to moving in retrograde without actually tink-ing. The good news is, I think I am getting on better terms with seaming. I defiitely still prefer working in the round though, and I think it's stupid when stuff that could be worked in the round is worked flat (i.e. the cami I hav been working on!) However, I am *this* close to being done with that damned thing. I literally just need to sew the straps on. All the ends are woven in and everything!
Today is an exciting day because I know I am going to the craft store tomorrow! One of my friends is taking me, and I am trying to evaluate what I want to knit next and what yarns I am going to be able to find at Michael's. I have a big-ass list of what I am going to look for. I really doubt it, but I am hoping against hope that I might be able to find something to make Hush Hush with. I am dying for that thing! And I am thinking of maybe making Mariah sometime soon. I need to start knitting things I am actually going to wear!
