Every change represents a loss.
I know it probably makes me weird, but I'm always a little bummed when I finish projects. Especially those that seem never-ending, things like aghans. I love the actual process of making things so much that when I am finished, it's like I have lost something. I get so used to working on a specific thing, and finding all those spare moments to work on it. Once it's done, I practically don't know what to do with myself. I'm at that point right now. I just finished a massive afghan that now belongs to TheBoy. I still haven't taken pictures of it. Originally, I was trying to get it finished and to him as quickly as humanly possible; our anniversary was last month. But now, I have had ample oppurtunity to photograph it, and I haven't. I think I just don't want it to be done. I want to have that thing that is nagging at me to be done- in the best way possible.
All that said, after a few days(nights) with the afghan, TheBoy wants me to add onto it. I was using all 1000+ yards of yarn I had from my frogged Mariah, and once I ran out, I was done. I'm just glad I hadn't added a border yet.
Having a boyfriend who appreciates the things I make him is wonderful. After propositioning some ideas for what I would do for his dad for Christmas, he had a great idea for another afghan- for him! I think I'm really starting to like these marathon projects. It's just hard to let go once you get attatched to them.

you are the first person i have hear say that you get bummed out when you fnish a project! i am the same way! i am happy to finish it, and then...sad at the same time. i am this way when i read a book i like too. and i feel depressed. so generally, i try to have something on hand to do the next thing immediately. for that reason, i am not a multiproject kinda gal. which is why i hate huge projects. if i put it down...done.

I don't tend to have attatchment issues with small, instant-gratification projects, which is good. I am into working on multiple things because I get bored easily, and then I have something else I can immediately delve into when I'm done with one thing.
